Résumé
Les cartes interactives en ligne sont omniprésentes dans les usages des Français. Elles se trouvent de ce fait au coeur de la mission de dépôt légal de la Bibliothèque nationale de France, désormais étendue à tous les documents numériques. Pourtant, depuis le début du siècle, leur collecte bute sur l’organisation et la matérialité de ces cartes, sans commune mesure avec celle des unités documentaires habituellement reçues en bibliothèque. Cet article propose, en suivant ce cas pratique, d’examiner comment le dépôt légal et ses outils peuvent se renouveler pour tenir leurs objectifs documentaires.
Abstract
Interactive online maps are ubiquitous in French society. As a result, they are at the heart of the Bibliothèque nationale de France’s legal deposit mission, now extended to all digital documents. However, since the turn of the century, their collection has been hampered by the organization and materiality of these cards, which are out of all proportion to the documentary units usually received in libraries. This article uses this case study to examine how legal deposit and its tools can renew themselves to meet their documentary objectives.
