The photographer Ève K. Tremblay has created an allegorical work, reminiscent of "tales with a moral," in which nymphets and mature women swarm busily to embellish life. The places chosen close in on consenting victims, who ready themselves for any metamorphosis within a theatre steeped in romanticism—even fantasy. Tremblay's colour series L’Éducation sentimentale and Mimi et Jeanne dans le Hall of Fame show a rigour of composition that borders on the mannerism of good taste. Tremblay's portraits show an individual isolated in a landscape or in a set more or less in harmony with her state of mind.

Les images prises par Faigenbaum à Brême illustrent un endroit précis. Cet aspect documentaire coïncide avec leur portée sensuelle, leur caractère subjectif et leur temporalité complexe qui englobe et maintient en suspension le passé, le présent et l’avenir. C'est à Brême que l’artiste a abordé pour la première fois la photo couleur en relation et en parallèle avec son travail en noir et blanc. Ses images de Brême possèdent ces mêmes qualités de gravité, d’intériorité et de calme qui sont au coeur de ses travaux antérieurs. Mais elles comportent aussi une dimension cinématique, ainsi qu’un peu de la fluidité, de la désorganisation, de la discontinuité temporelle et de la multiplicité de la vie urbaine, déjà présentes, quoique de façon moins marquée, dans ses travaux précédents.

Longing and Not Belonging is an exhibition of 41 digital-output works by photographer Rosalie Favell. Favell has chosen to explore her identity as a mixed-blood urban Cree through her family photographs and images of twentieth-century pop culture. Her family photographs remind us of our own special times and provide documentation for her history. Her work takes us to places not uncommon to our own life experiences. The images tell us, and others, who we are and where we came from, and they can even provide us with insight into where we are going.
