Résumé
Cet article se penche sur le processus de recherche ethnographique de la première auteure qui, dans le cadre de son doctorat en travail social, s’est intéressée aux conceptualisations et expériences au Nunavik des phénomènes dits « psychotiques » dans le paradigme dominant de la santé mentale. Les résultats présentés dans l’article, basés sur plusieurs mois d’entrevues et d’observations participantes avec des Inuit, invitent à une réflexion concernant les pratiques et les attitudes qui constituent encore à ce jour des manifestations d’une posture coloniale en intervention dans le domaine de la santé mentale. Nous proposons d’élargir nos manières d’appréhender les phénomènes psychotiques dans le but d’aller vers une intervention collaborative avec les Inuit, tant avec les personnes qui composent avec les phénomènes dits psychotiques, que leurs proches et les personnes qui travaillent auprès d’elles.

Abstract
This article looks at the ethnographic research process of the first author, who, as part of her doctorate in social work, focused on Nunavik's conceptualizations and experiences of so-called "psychotic" phenomena within the dominant mental health paradigm. The results presented in the article, based on several months of interviews and participant observations with Inuit, invite reflection on practices and attitudes that to this day still constitute manifestations of a colonial posture in mental health intervention. We propose to broaden our ways of understanding psychotic phenomena, to move towards collaborative intervention with the Inuit, with the people dealing with so-called psychotic phenomena, their families and the people who work with them.
