Résumé
Cet article étudie l’intérêt de l’autobiographie pour mettre en lumière la convergence conceptuelle du sujet, du lieu et du récit. L’auteur examine trois approches des rapports sujet-écrivain, lieu et écriture propres à la géographie littéraire, en montrant que ces trois éléments y sont rarement considérés sur un pied d’égalité conceptuelle. Il préconise une conception riche du sujet (qui ne nie pas les facteurs qui le traversent), active du lieu et médiatrice du récit. Le cas de Charles Bukowski (1920-1994), écrivain californien dont l’oeuvre est autobiographique à divers degrés, sert à illustrer les rapports mutuellement constitutifs de ces trois notions. L’autobiographie, littéraire ou non, permet de donner un contenu concret à cette convergence théorique et méthodologique.

Abstract
This article weighs the advantages of using autobiography to shed light on the conceptual convergence of subject-writer, place and narrative. Its author examines three approaches to the interplay of subject-writer, place and narrative, and demonstrates that these notions, peculiar to literary geography, are seldom considered to equate with one another, conceptually speaking. He advocates an enriched conceptualization of subject (i.e. open to other influences) in which place has a dynamic function and narrative a mediating role. The work of the Californian writer Charles Bukowski (1920-1994) is autobiographical in a number of ways, and illustrates the mutually constituent relationships between these three notions. Autobiography, literary or otherwise, is a mine of examples of theoretical and methodological convergence.

Resumen
Este artículo expone las ventajas de la autobiografía en el tratamiento de la convergencia conceptual del sujeto, del lugar y del relato. El autor examina tres enfoques de las relaciones sujeto-escritor, lugar y escritura propios a la Geografía literaria, aclarando que esos tres elementos son considerados raramente sobre el mismo plan conceptual. Preconiza una concepción fecunda del sujeto (que no niega los factores que se le presentan), dependiente del lugar y mediadora del relato. El caso de Charles Bukowski (1920-1994), escritor californiano cuya obra autobiográfica, a diversos grados, ilustra las relaciones mutualmente constitutivas de esas tres nociones. La autobiografía, litería o no, procura un contenido concreto a esta convergencia teórica y metodológica.
