Résumé
L’identité se définit dans un rapport à l’autre. D’où l’idée d’examiner Internet, et plus précisément le web, comme lieu de construction identitaire; en moins d’une décennie en effet, Internet s’est imposé comme moyen de communication et de diffusion de l’information. Ce qui nous intéresse ici, ce ne sont pas les identités individuelles, mais les identités collectives. Notre investigation a porté sur les régions pour cerner le rapport entre une collectivité aux contours repérables dans l’espace social et géographique et sa projection dans un espace virtuel.

Abstract
Identity is defined through relationships with others. The Internet and the Worldwide Web in particular, can be used to examine this relationship and how regional collective identities are created. In our study we examine certain regions of Quebec to investigate the relationship between socially and geographically defined communities and their projection into virtual space.
