Résumé
Dans son œuvre historiographique, l’éminent médiéviste Walter Ullmann a incité à plusieurs reprises les historiens à recourir davantage au discours juridique pour mieux circonscrire la réalité d'une époque. Dans le présent texte, l'auteur tente de reconstituer le discours élaboré à l'occasion par le professeur Ullmann pour promouvoir la méthode juridique en histoire, discours qui constitue une contribution méconnue au domaine de la jurisprudence historique.
Abstract
In his historiographic work, the eminent medieval scholar Walter Ullmann incited historians on various occasions to resort more often to legal discourse to better illustrate the reality of those times. This paper attempts to reconstitute the discourse then advanced by Professor Ullmann to promote the legal method in history. This discourse constitutes a little known contribution in the field of historic jurisprudential studies.
