Résumé
De 2021 à 2024, quatre installations audiovisuelles immersives distinctes ont été réalisées in situ sous l’égide de la Chaire MÉDIANE. Ces installations annuelles, chacune structurée par des échafaudages et des équipements audiovisuels, ont présenté des démarches distinctes d’une recherche-création liée à l’expression artistique de données issues de capteurs placés sur les arbres et dans leur environnement immédiat. Ces données chiffrées ont été fournies et analysées en collaboration avec deux groupes scientifiques, Smartforests Canada (UQAM) et DOT-Lab (Université TÉLUQ), qui étudient les effets des changements climatiques sur des parcelles de forêts au Canada. Cet essai constitue le lieu d’émergence d’un champ-texte issu des commentaires anonymes recueillis en réponse à l’une des sept questions composant un entretien semi-dirigé. Mené en extérieur au cours des quatre installations, cet entretien visait à sonder les publics, afin de conduire à une recherche qualitative de leurs expériences et leurs connaissances.

Abstract
From 2021 to 2024, four distinct immersive audiovisual installations were produced in situ by the MÉDIANE Research Chair. These annual installations, each of them built with scaffolding and audiovisual equipment, presented distinct research-creation approaches as linked to the artistic expression of the sensor-data of trees and their immediate environment. The numerical data were provided and analyzed in collaboration with two scientific groups, Smartforests Canada (UQAM) and DOT-Lab (Université TÉLUQ), which both study the effects of climate change on forest plots in Canada. This essay explores the emergence of a text field resulting from anonymous comments provided in response to one of the seven questions which constituted a semi-structured interview. It was conducted during the presentation of the artworks in outdoor spaces. The interview enabled to conduct qualitative research into the public's experiences and knowledges.
