Résumé
Ce panorama explore les nuances politiques du mouvement musical Do it yourself (DIY) à travers une étude synthétique de la littérature scientifique et journalistique concernant les allégeances politiques des auditeurs et des groupes associés à ce mouvement. En effet, bien que le mouvement DIY parte souvent d’un postulat de défiance à l’endroit de l’industrie musicale et d’une approche non mercantile de l’art, la pluralité des genres musicaux associés à cette culture suggère la possibilité d’une hétérogénéité des idées politiques en son sein. Ce texte, dont le principal objectif est d’offrir un point de vue synthétique sur cette question, constate que les artistes du mouvement DIY ont un bloc idéologique commun concernant les questions économiques, mais que des nuances existent sur les questions sociopolitiques et sur la manière de les aborder.

Abstract
This panorama explores the political nuances of the Do it yourself (DIY) musical movement through a synthetic study of the scientific literature on the topic and of journalistic accounts of the political allegiances of auditors and groups associated with the movement. Although the DIY movement is premised on defiance vis-à-vis the music industry and on a non-mercantile approach to art, the plurality of musical genres associated with this culture suggests the possibility of heterogenous political orientations within it. This research note, which primarily aims is to offer a synthetic view of this question, also highlights that DIY artists share common ideological views on economic questions, while nuanced variations are observed regarding sociopolitical issues and the ways in which they ought to be addressed.
