Résumé
Dans ce texte, l’auteure rappelle les principes de la Loi sur la protection des renseignements personnels dans le secteur privé les plus susceptibles d’affecter les activités des assureurs et des institutions financières. Pour ce faire, elle a fréquemment fait appel à la jurisprudence. Elle espère que ce texte pourra aider les assureurs et les institutions financières à mieux comprendre certaines de leurs obligations et à les mettre administrativement en oeuvre, sans pour autant augmenter les risques ni indisposer leurs clients.
Abstract
ln her article, the author draws the principals of the law governing the protection of personal information in the private sector, particularly those which would significantly affect the financial institutions or the insurers operations. To meet such an objective, she frequently call upon to the case law. She hopes that this study could be of help to the insurers and the financial institutions to better understand any of their obligations and to concretely manage them, in order not to increase risks nor to upset against their clientele.
