Résumé
En mettant l’accent sur le mariage urbain comme terrain ethnographique, cet article examine la relation « d’affection » (lovemarking) que les consommateurs lituaniens entretiennent avec les marques de vodka (degtinė) domestiques. La disposition affective des buveurs envers la degtinė est analysée par rapport à la « redomestication » de cette boisson populaire maintenant distillée grâce à de nouvelles technologies perçues comme modernes et progressistes. En invoquant la tradition et l’histoire « importante », et en manipulant les métaphores de « pureté » et de « naturel », les marques « attachantes » de vodka domestique font écho aux désirs d’unité nationale et de particularisme. En même temps, et de façon paradoxale, ces marques donnent l’occasion aux consommateurs de construire des imaginaires et des identités plus globales et plus modernes. Dans la Lituanie d’aujourd’hui, le fait de boire de la degtinė révèle comment la modernité globale envahissante crée la similitude mais également, comment elle est impliquée dans la création de traits distinctifs locaux définis en termes nationalistes. Cet article montre aussi que les marques de vodka « attachantes » constituent des moyens efficaces pour identifier et mettre en place le changement post socialiste perçu positivement.

Abstract
Focusing on the urban wedding as its main ethnographic setting, this essay examines Lithuanian consumers’ « loving » relationship with domestic brands of vodka or degtinė. Drinkers’ affective disposition toward degtinė is discussed in relation to the ongoing « re-domestication » of this popular national beverage produced with new technologies identified as Western and progressive. Invoking « ancient » tradition and « eminent » history, as well as manipulating metaphors of purity and naturalness, « loveable » brands of domestic vodka speak to local desires of national oneness and distinction. Simultaneously, and paradoxically, such brands enable consumers to construct imaginaries and identities seen to be more global and modern. In contemporary Lithuania, degtinė drinking reveals how encroaching global modernity creates sameness, and how at once it becomes implicated in the reproduction of local distinctiveness defined in nationalist terms. The essay also argues that « loveable » vodka brands constitute significant means for marking and effecting post socialist change perceived to be positive.

Resumen
Enfatizando la boda urbana en tanto que sitio etnográfico, este artículo examina la relación « de afecto » (lovemarking) que los consumidores Lituanos mantienen con las marcas de vodka (degtiné) domesticas. La disposición afectiva de los bebedores hacia la degtiné se analiza con relación a la « re-domesticación » de esta bebida popular actualmente destilada gracia a las nuevas tecnologías percibidas como modernas y progresistas. Al invocar la tradición y la historia « importante » y manipular las metáforas de « pureza » y de « natural », las marcas « seductoras » de vodka domestico interpelan los deseos de unidad nacional y de particularismo. Al mismo tiempo y de manera paradójica, dichas marcas permiten a los consumidores construir imaginarios e identidades más globales y modernas. En Lituania de hoy en día, el hecho de beber degtiné revela cómo la modernidad global avasalladora crea la similitud pero asimismo, cómo está implicada en la creación de los rasgos distintivos locales definidos en términos nacionalistas. Este artículo muestra que las marcas de vodka « seductoras » constituyen los medios eficaces para identificar y organizar el cambio pos-socialista percibido positivamente.
