Résumé

Ce texte vise à montrer comment le concept d’ethnie a été instrumentalisé dans la récente vie politique au Congo-Brazzaville. Sur presque cinquante ans d’histoire, l’auteur décrit comment l’ethnie (celle du nord, les Ngala, celle du sud, les Koongo) devient prétexte à union ou désunion nationale. La population, de son côté, subit dans sa chair les exactions commises au nom de ce marché de dupes sous un régime soi-disant démocratique. Si bien que les Congolais qui viennent de rejoindre le lot des populations les plus pauvres de la planète regrettent presque la dictature qui leur a assuré une paix relative. Tragique résignation, mais qui démontre aussi d’une autre manière que l’ethnopolitisme du peuple n’est pas l’ethno-politisme des politiciens, pour l’heure tout au moins.

Abstract

The aim of this text is to show how the concept of ethnic groups has been used as a tool in the recent political life in Congo-Brazzaville. Within nearly fifty years of history, the author describes how the ethnic group (Ngala in the North, Koongo in the South) becomes a pretext for national union or disunity. As for the population, they suffer in their flesh from the exactions committed in the name of this fool’s deal under a so-called democratic system. In such a way that the Congolese who have joined the poorest populations of the world since the recent civil wars, nearly regret the dictatorship which provided them relative peace. Tragic resignation, which also proves in another way that the people’s ethnopolitism is not the politician’s ethnopolitism, at least for the moment.
